Here at Mercedes Drive…
We are a new congregation of the churches of Christ in the Mercedes area dedicated to a return to simple New Testament Christianity. In the 1st century, Christians were united by a common faith in Jesus Christ as the Incarnate Word, the Son of the Living God who had come to the earth to leave us an example to follow in his steps and to eventually suffer and die for our sins. Jesus taught his followers to love one another and to seek to worship God in spirit and in truth. There were at that time no human denominations, no human creeds, no earthly headquarters, no dioceses, no synods, and no divisions among the followers of Christ. A lot has changed in the last 2000 years. There are so many divisions and creeds and competing ideas that honest seekers truly do have difficulty in finding the Lord. Where does one turn to find Jesus in this modern day Babel of confusion? We suggest that we turn to the only true source for truth . . . to the words of Christ and his apostles found in the Holy Scriptures. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life and no man cometh to the Father but by me." John 14:6. Come and study the scriptures together with us as we seek to be just christians, just God's people, just a church that belongs to Christ.
